We had a great time this year picking, preserving, and baking! (also eating)
There were strawberries, cherries, apples, nectarines, blueberries, and peaches from the farm stand.We picked many days, and for some fruits went back again and again.
And since we had all of those fruits available, there were pints of: Strawberry Jam, Peach Jam, Apple Butter, Apple Pie filling, and peaches.We froze quite a bit as well. In fact today there's a blueberry slab pie working in the oven.
The kids love picking. Every time we drive by one of "our places" they beg to go get some more. We usually end up eating about as much as we take home while we're still in the fields. One of the perks of pick your own...
For now we're day dreaming about those warm days as Thanksgiving is almost here, and already looking forward to next year.
